Luxury and adventure await when you register for your Alaskan cruise. We’ve already seen a huge number of agencies register and whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple or as a family, we know you will love your stay in Vancouver, British Columbia, with a seven-night cruise to Alaska.

The trip begins with two nights at the elegant Fairmont Waterfront Hotel. With floor-to-ceiling windows, this seaside location offers a view from your room that is spectacular. The hotel is conveniently located near Vancouver’s hot spots and you’ll be a short walk from the trendy pubs, coffee shops and shopping of the historic Gastown district.

Locals and visitors love to dine at ARC, located in the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel. This stylish restaurant uses locally sourced ingredients, along with honey and fresh herbs from the hotel’s rooftop garden, to create an outstanding menu with exceptional flavor. If you’re in the mood for refreshments, you can also quench your thirst and unwind to the live music that is played nightly at the restaurant bar.

The Fairmont also allows guests to borrow bikes for a leisurely ride along the waterfront to the world-renowned Stanley Park to see the massive flower beds and to enjoy the shade of the giant trees. To stay in your fitness routine, you can also use the state-of-the-art health club as well as the outdoor heated pool overlooking the harbor and mountains.

The Fairmont Waterfront is just steps from the cruise ship terminal, where we’ll depart on our Alaskan cruise. You’ll quickly make yourself at home on this Holland America ship and all travelers will have a veranda room, which allows you to step outside to get a clear view of the stunning sites.

Our seven-day Inside Passage cruise offers plenty of time to explore the ship and enjoy the onboard activities. While cruising between Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay and Ketchikan, you can pursue some new interests, relax, rejuvenate and catch up with fellow travelers.

While on the ship you can participate in wine or beer tastings, join a cooking workshop from America’s Test Kitchen, or take a fitness class in the fully equipped workout center. There are also basketball and volleyball courts on board, and kids have their own club where they can hang out.

Those desiring a little relaxation will be happy to know The Greenhouse Spa & Salon is at your service, including a thermal pool and lounge area for spa guests. You’ll also find both an indoor and outdoor pool open to all.

There are lots of evening entertainment options onboard with varying styles of music, dance floors and even a B.B. King’s Blues Club. Visit The Showroom at Sea auditorium for nightly performances, or escape to The Screening Room for movie showings. You’ll also find duty-free boutique and souvenir shopping on the ship.

Food in the main dining room of the cruise ship is spectacular, but you can also make reservations at several other restaurants specializing in seafood, steak, Italian, Southeast Asian and French cuisine. If you’ve had your fill of gourmet, you can also get an excellent burger at the Dive-In poolside grill, or pizza from the New York restaurant.

We’ll have some scheduled events for you on this trip, but you will be amazed at how much downtime you will also have. When we return to Vancouver, we’ll stay at the Fairmont Waterfront for one more night in case you have a few more sites you want to see before leaving the city.
