Alaskan Cruise | Vancouver

Alaska Highlights With Images

Many of you have said the last Alaskan cruise with Auto-Owners was your favorite, and for years you’ve been asking us to take you back. So once again we’ve planned a spectacular Alaskan cruise that we think will exceed your expectations. We’ve even made plans to include your children and grandchildren on four specially designated groups.

Your trip will start with a two-night stay in Vancouver. This vibrant, waterfront city is sure to impress as you enjoy upscale accommodations at the luxurious Fairmont Waterfront Hotel. Spend your two days before our cruise relaxing at the Fairmont or set out to explore Vancouver. A perfect day in Vancouver may include a leisurely walk or bike ride along the waterfront path of Coal Harbour, where you can watch float planes take off and land. The path is conveniently located across the street from the hotel and leads to the beautiful green spaces of Stanley Park.

Walk to nearby Gastown, Vancouver’s oldest neighborhood, with its charming cafes, shops, pubs and restaurants. Visit Granville Island to wander the market for produce or baked goods. It’s a great spot for an impromptu lunch at one of the wonderful restaurants on the island. A favorite way to get to the island is aboard a mini-tugboat. The exchange rate will give you a good reason to plan a shopping excursion along famous Robson Street, where you’ll find many shops and the nearby Pacific Centre Mall. Visit Yaletown, one of the city’s most chic neighborhoods filled with sidewalk cafes, cool restaurants and unique shopping. The Hop-On, Hop-Off bus based across the street from our hotel is an easy way to get around the city to these hot spots. We’ll also take you on a tour your first morning in Vancouver to help familiarize you with the city.

You’ll easily walk from our hotel to board our Holland America ship for our seven night cruise. This luxury cruise line never misses an opportunity to pamper you during your time aboard. Gourmet food, high-end service, a luxurious spa and nightly entertainment options will help to create a trip you won’t soon forget.

Highlights 2

We’ll start off relaxing onboard for two days while we cruise through the Inside Passage. Then we’ll enjoy a memorable day floating through magnificent Glacier Bay, viewing the spectacular scenery up close from the top deck of our ship. Stops in Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan will offer optional excursions so you can immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Alaska. Watch for future articles describing the excursions you’ll want to put on your list.

After returning to Vancouver, we’ll take you directly from the ship to visit two must-see Vancouver destinations. You’ll take a gondola up Grouse Mountain to see where the 2010 Winter Olympics were held. We’ll also take you to Capilano Suspension Bridge to explore the park, where you can cross this famous 450-foot suspension bridge high above the Capilano River. You can also venture on a cliff walk along a series of cantilevered bridges, or enjoy a walk in the treetop adventure to get a tree canopy view of this thriving coastal rainforest amid the 1,300-year-old Douglas firs. Or venture through the forest along the beautiful trails. You’ll enjoy this peaceful location just outside of the city. We’ll provide lunch and take you back for your final night’s stay at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel.
