Huntington Beach
Highlights

It’s time to do some “California Dreaming”! We set up your vacation to Huntington Beach, California, (aka Surf City, USA) and now we know why this destination consistently receives recognition for being one of the best vacation spots in the U.S. Please check back for 2021 travel updates.

Located in Southern California, Huntington Beach enjoys a comfortable climate throughout the year, with a temperature that rarely gets above 90 degrees, and seldom sees rainfall. This resort – along with the abundance of beaches, local surfing and casual lifestyle – makes for the perfect vacation experience for everyone.

You will be spoiled during a four-night stay at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa. This five-star resort boasts all of the luxurious amenities you would expect, and our travelers will be accommodated in rooms with a view of the shimmering Pacific Ocean.

This is the only resort in Huntington Beach with a private foot bridge over the Pacific Coast Highway, making it easy and safe to access the beach for soaking up the sun, surf lessons, riding bikes or taking a walk along the golden coastline. The prime oceanfront location of the resort is within walking distance to shopping and dining at Pacific City and downtown Huntington Beach.

Auto-Owners will provide you breakfast every morning at Pete’s Sunset Grille. This restaurant is also a great option for a casual lunch or dinner and cocktails. We really enjoyed the fish tacos for lunch! Another great casual option is Tower 15 Pizzeria, or stop in Surf City Grocers for a Starbucks coffee, snacks and drinks. For an upscale dining experience, you will enjoy Watertable, serving Southern California cuisine with world-class wines and artisanal cocktails.

You can do as little or as much as you want during this beach vacation. Splash around and soak in the sun in one of three pool areas, including a lagoon-style swimming pool and a children’s water playground with three slides. Lounge in a cool poolside cabana on the palm tree-lined sun deck, or relax in the adult-only spa grotto featuring three oversized hot tubs.

The resort offers Camp Hyatt for children ages 3 to 12. Morning, afternoon and all-day sessions are available. During the week they will also offer other activities for the kids, such as Cosmic Sliding at night, sandcastle building, kite flying and mermaid school.

Once the sun sets, the resort can help you unwind from the day’s activities by setting up your own beach bonfire with s’mores and hot chocolate.

For travelers that want to venture off the resort property, there are many nearby areas you can explore. If you have kids or are just a kid at heart, you can take the complimentary resort shuttle and spend the day at Disneyland®.

If food and art are more your style, you won’t want to miss out on a day in Laguna Beach browsing fine boutiques and art galleries. When you are ready for a meal or refreshment, you will find there is no shortage of cafés, pubs and eateries.

We also enjoyed a visit to the Laguna Arts Festival, where you can browse three different art fairs while looking for a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork or jewelry.

Another area you’ll want to check out is Newport Beach. A great way to spend a relaxing afternoon is by renting an electric Duffy boat to view the magnificent mansions and yachts that line the harbor. Be sure to dock the boat for a meal on Balboa Island and get a snack at the home of The Original Frozen Banana.
